Banstead Manor Care Home Visits

"Bringing old and young together for meaningful interactions is now proving to have many benefits-not just for children and the elderly, but for society as a whole" (Early Years Educator, May 2019). At Burgh Wood Montessori, we believe that intergenerational interaction can have many benefits for older people improving their health and care and reducing loneliness and depression. For our young children, it provides an opportunity for older people to contribute to a young child's progress, learning and development as part of the early years curriculum.

Every Tuesday morning a small group of children visit the residents at Banstead Manor Care Home and the children and residents work together on a variety of activities, We also had the enormous privilege of welcoming some of our new friends from Banstead Manor Care Home to watch the children perform the annual Nativity Play.
