Things We Teach
Montessori
Combining self-directed learning with practical activities in collaboration with their peers; this method of free-flow play and structured activities develops the child’s self-esteem and increases their ability to problem solve so that they acquire confidence and a joy of learning.
Bear Forest School
We provide weekly Burgh Wood Bear Forest School sessions for children from 3 years to experience new challenges and independent learning in an outdoor environment with Forest School trained staff.
Extracurricular
Children have the opportunity to engage in extracurricular activities.
We enjoy weekly visits with our friends at Banstead Manor Care Home and regular activities such as school trips, ‘Boogie Beats’ and ‘Little Kickers’.
Information Technology
Children are able to access Montessori Apps or games through a variety of devices.
We also focus on preparing children to transition from nursery to Primary School working closely in partership with Primary School teachers.
Sensory Activities
We follow the Montessori Ethos with child-led activities and Montessori Materials to stimulate through sensory learning. Children have access to a variety of sensorial activities to stimulate their senses.
Understanding the World
Children are provided with activities to help them to make sense of the world around them with opportunities to observe, explore and learn about cultures, places and the environment.
